In Collaboration with
Naturally Superior Adventures

This fully guided sea kayaking and yoga experience is a collaboration between SHE Ventures Outdoors and Naturally Superior Adventures, combining expert paddling instruction with intentional time to reset in one of Lake Superior’s most remote coastal landscapes. This trip is designed for novice through to intermediate paddlers. While no previous sea kayaking experience is required, your enjoyment will be enhanced if you are in good physical condition and comfortable with backcountry camping.

Launching from Rock Island Lodge in Michipicoten Bay, the group will head west along Lake Superior’s shoreline through the Superior Highlands Conservation Reserve to Dog River. This stretch of coast is known for its rocky headlands, quiet sandy beaches, and dramatic geological features.

Naturally Superior Adventures will lead all aspects of the sea kayaking portion of the trip, drawing on decades of experience guiding Lake Superior’s north shore. SHE Ventures Outdoors guest yoga instructor, Lauri Corlett, will supplement the paddling experience with optional, all-levels yoga sessions in the mornings and evenings, designed to support recovery and mobility after full days on the water.

At the midpoint of the trip, the group will hike inland to Denison Falls—a multi-tiered waterfall dropping approximately 40 metres (100 feet). Whether exploring the lower falls or continuing to the upper falls, it’s easy to understand why this location was a favourite of legendary Canadian paddler and filmmaker Bill Mason.
